Magnesium & Psoriasis

Kajian mendapati kebanyakkan pesakit Psoriasis mengalami kekurangan mineral magnesium.

People with psoriasis are often magnesium-deficient. - Dr. Deborah

"Psoriasis is but one result of what happens when the body is not in chemical balance, which occurs as a result of chronic deficiency in certain minerals, magnesium being a key one" - Adam Abraham

"Magnesium is also important, both for the proper function of calcium, and for the activity of vitamin D as it converts vitamin D into its active form. Magnesium also activates enzyme activity that helps your body use the vitamin D. In fact, all enzymes that metabolize vitamin D require magnesium to work. As with vitamin D and K2, magnesium deficiency is also common, and if you’re lacking in magnesium and take supplemental calcium, you may exacerbate the situation." Dr Mercola

"It turned out his friend was taking magnesium chloride, orally. Charlie found a bag of road de-icer, which is mostly magnesium chloride and, interestingly, the highest mineral content in the Dead Sea, a destination for thousands of people suffering from psoriasis. He mixed it with water and sprayed it on his arms. It worked and the mosquitoes retreated. A few weeks later, he noticed the psoriasis on his arms was going away. He sprayed the solution all over his body and although it burned, he kept it up – several times a day. Four months later, he was psoriasis free for the first time in over 30 years." Towards rational treatment of severe psoriasis in alcoholics: report of two cases.
PJ Aronson, F Malick - Journal of drugs in dermatology: JDD, 2010 - europepmc.org

Abstract
Alcoholism is a risk factor in the worsening of psoriasis. The authors present two cases of flared severe psoriasis in alcoholic patients showing dramatic improvement of their skin disease using treatments directed towards correcting abnormalities commonly found as sequelae of alcoholism such as endotoxin production, low serum magnesium levels and elevated plasma homocysteine levels.
Penetration of selected Dead Sea minerals through a healthy rabbit skin, from a sustained‐release transparent varnish, as a prospective treatment for psoriasis

"We could demonstrate that two weekly applications of the salt-containing varnish on healthy rabbit skin are enough to obtain elevated levels of magnesium and potassium in their plasma. We propose the application of Dead Sea minerals containing varnish as a clinical treatment for psoriasis."

"Conclusions The present study implies a beneficial effect to bathing wish either DS hath salt or common salt as a sole therapy for psoriasis vulgaris. However, we observed an enhanced beneficial effect of DS hath salt compared to common salt."
